hi julian,

well, i'm not sure.

we never had the there described phenomen, that mutt does not recognize
new mail due to the nfs caching problem.

we neither had chaching-problems, locking-problems nor data-corruption
etc before. but now, we have had a complete data loss.

the bug you mentioned is from january. but since half a year, anybody
has complained about the described effects. on the other hand, it's
interesting, that our failure occured in the last few days, and then
twice (but not reproduceable / hardly traceable).

i think it's important to track.

in the meantime, i have changed our configuration for LAN-delivery via
insmtp stead of sharing the mail directory via nfs.

if there are no other complains about mutt on an actual potato, it
sounds like the problem is located around the nfs.

maybe. i know 2.2.x development was a hard work. but i *do* like my
2.0.36 :) and currently, the update/fix-frequency is quite high. i
remember times years ago, i could'nt await, seeing a new kernel :))
