    Am I the only one that finds that remarkably arrogant?  Not to
discount the value of the GNU programs, but it's not like they're the
only programs you can find under Linux.  And if a Hurd system is
"unmodified GNU", to claim that a Linux system is an "modified GNU" is
equivalent to calling it a "modified Hurd", which I think is incredibly
stupid, considering that in my understanding not all of the GNU programs
that run under Linux even compile on the Hurd.  
    
    This is drifting pretty far off topic, though.  My next proposal
will allow for the "gnu" string in the expected place.  Could someone
please bring this up with the Hurd folks while they're still small
enough to modify their configure scripts to look for "hurd" instead of
"gnu"?
