    Several packages do compress those directories, actually, but this
discussion has been in the context of the changelog file.  Lynx *will*
transparantly read changelog.html.gz, but it's the only program I know
of that does (I don't really use dwww).

    I just read the Guy confirmed that Netscape can transparantly read a
single .html.gz file, so it's probably a configuration botch on my
system.  If anyone has any ideas on how to get it working, I'd
appreciate a note.
