Re: Bug#20409: rxvt: postinst/prerm use /usr/bin/X11

Hi,

Why is the link there then? What happens when it is no longer
X11R6? I remember the confudion when it moved from X10, and then from
R4 to R5 to R6. The link was createred so that everyone does not have
to change the PATH in zillions of accounts, and the transition
happens smoothly (unlike the headless chicken behaviour I see in
managers when talking about the Y2K problem).

I think it should be permissible for scripts to use
/usr/bin/X11/, as that should be updated correctly.

	The criteria should be:
 a) Do you need a R6 version of that progeram, and you are sure no
other version shall do? then use /usr/X11R6/bin
 b) Or else, use /usr/bin/X11

Do not be too hasty in choosing option a "to be safe". These
decisions come back to haunt you close to a transition.
