Digikam and inserting XMP metadata

Hi,

on a debian wheezy, i installed the Digikam (v2.6.0) .deb

I desperatly try to write XMP metadata in pictures (jpg) for can sort 
them, but unfortunately, when i clic on "apply" (in the metadata 
window), all the informations i wroted before does disappear.

At the same time, when i fly over some icons with the cursor of my 
mouse, i see some rectangular shape without any information inside. I 
find it strange.

Someone could have a solution?
