Thanks for the suggestion.

I think your scheme is probably good in many situations but I don't
think it would have worked well for me in this case.

My ad-hoc bundling approach avoided me having to define stable APIs,
give them numbers, explicitly update things, and so on.  It seems to
have worked well so far.
