Re: How to request additional CPAN modules?

Hi Gabor,

This is a great question. Actually, RFPs are quite welcome as they are
a good way to know what users would like to use. We evidently cannot
package the whole of CPAN, and also do not (yet) have mind-reading
technology ;-)

What you need to do is file an RFP bug, you do this using the
"reportbug" tool against a package called wnpp (it stands for
Work-Needing and Prospective Packages). It has a "wizard" kind of
thing that will guide you through; just type: reportbug wnpp.

A better usage description is here: http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/

In particular, this option:

5 RFP This is a Request For Package. You have found an interesting piece
of software and would like someone else to maintain it for Debian.
Please submit a package description along with copyright and URL in
such a report.

You can also bug the folks on irc.debian.org #debian-perl - sometimes
things are just easier over IRC :-)

Cheers,

Jonathan
