We have quite a few packages in our svn repo that have never/not yet
been uploaded. They can be seen at
http://pkg-perl.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/pet.cgi in the "New
packages :: Work in progress" section.
While some of them are clearly work-in-progress, others seem to be
injected-and-forgotten, and there's a grey area between.
Since those packages clutter up the nice PET interface :) and make
things like "svn up trunk/" or changes over the whole repo slower I'd
propose to remove those packages that are abandoned.
Below are the 35 packages in question, with my comments after checking
debian/changelog and "svn log". I'm presenting all packages here,
even the "very new" and the "quite rotten" one; my tentative
assignment to "dead" is of course only a first proposal and
subjective and arbitrary and biased.
My questions are:
* Please look through the list and comment on what doesn't make
sense.
* Please look for your alioth name - you probably know best the
status of "your" package :)
And maybe you want to finish it, or add a note the its changelog or
ask for help, or remove it from the repo.
* Please look if there are packaged that were injected by someone
else and could need some love.
I hope that in the end (maybe in 2-3 weeks?) we have some more
clarity -- we know which packages are really "work in progress" and
can delete those where there is neither interest nor activity nor any
objections.
