And there's a more pragmatic reason: It won't show up in the "Ready
for upload section" on http://pkg-perl.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/pet.cgi
if the distribution is set to UNRELEASED.
(Or the other way round: if a package is ready, the distriubtion
should be set to unstable (or experimental) and potential uploaders
will just find it where they expect it :))

I took a look at the package, and it's almost ready for upload IMO.
As usual I've added my thought to the top of debian/changelog -- they
look longer than they are, some parts are just cosmetic changes ...
