Ok, I just upgraded my openoffice to 1.1.3, i did all the default
upgrade of packages. I do not get the error popup now. Perhaps it now
automatically gets the en_GB dictionary? On the spellcheck dialog it
looks the same, but English(US) and English (UK) both lit up in the list.
If you have myspell-en-gb installed.. Do you?

Could you tell me where it is suggested by openoffice.org-l10n-en please?
(I read all the apt-cache show openoffice.org-l10n-en text but could not
seem any mention of dictionaries.)
OK, let's look. the places where dictionaries are mentioned are ^'d, you need a non-proportional font to read it properly ;-):

Ok, there is no myspell-dictionary-en package for debian sarge. Mabye it
is an alias for English, and US ditionary packages.

(2) clearly says myspell-* again:

(3) is just a conclusion of (1) and (2).
Is there reason why when I select a british english install. When I set
my locale to en_GB, when I setup X with gb keyboard and kde in en_GB
that English dicitionary does not automatically get installed? Surely
the correct dictionary for the install should be automatically installed?
The problem is that this is not possible to express in package relations
since they are hardcoded at *build-time* and you can't run apt during a
package install after you found out that you want en-GB..
Could the install of those packages be restarted then? or just en_GB
dictionaries installed after?

Are you in a position to correct this mistake? Who are "they" btw?

If the text is an abreviation for the United Kingdom the UK is fine.
However in the case of locales and dictionaries ISO 3166 country codes
should be used -- so that should be GB.
I guess, yes, I'll ask the OOo authors.
