Installing openoffice.org2-gnome or openoffice.org-gtk-gnome does not have any
effect on the relevant versions of OpenOffice. In fact, strace shows that
soffice does not even try to load the VCL plugin.
I am not running Gnome, but I have installed the libraries, and I would like to
have a GTK look and feel in OpenOffice. Is there anything I can do to enable
it?
I tried renaming the VCL plugin to make OpenOffice load it, but then I get
"no suitable windowing system found".
Thanks.

That's the "problem".

you can try to export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN="gtk" (or gnome, don't remember
exactly, but I guess the first)

Of course this is wrong.
Anyway, this is no bug. Closing.
