trouble with connection to mysql via odbc

Hi,

a while ago I (about 5 month ago) installed the odbc connection to openoffice
with unixodbc libmyodbc and libiodbc. I created and worked on 2 mysql
databases and everything work smooth.

I now wanted to come back to these data bases but cannot create forms to work
on them or documents that use their entries because openoffice cannot find
the field-names. It does connect to the data base and can read the table. I
can even see the contents of the data base via View->Data sources. Also old
documents that have the right field names can be opened and printed via mail
merge.

What doesn't work:
Generating forms via autopilot: my mysql database, I can choose one of the
tables but then I cannot choose any fieldname. So "next" doesn't get
enabled. (It does work whith the included flat file bibliography)

Including field names of the database via the field include dialog. Same
problem can those the database, a tree with all tables in the data base is
openened but the the fields within the table are not visible (If I klick on
the "+" the "+" disappears and the tree view doesn't show the field names to
choose from).

Generating a Design View Query: (same as above oo doesn' know the field names)

There's no error message anywhere (not even in the mysql log-files).

(I don't have the computer here right now, but all necessary packages are in
their newest sarge version. Upgraded this week)

Any ideas would be welcome,

Regards

Roland
