Spellcheck issues with Greek language

Hi list!

Although I seem to have the Greek OpenOffice.org dictionary installed (I
get the blue checkmark next to "Greek" in the available languages
lists), it doesn't work.

When I enter Greek text (and designated as Greek, both as the "Default
language for documents", and by selecting all text and checking that
Character...-> Font -> Language is Greek), the following things happen:

[0] All text is marked as unknown (with no suggestions in the context
menu for other Greek words) and

[1] I see nothing (no words, fonts, anything) in the "Spellcheck(Greek)"
window.

dpkg reports the following: (truncated to <72 chars)
debian:~# dpkg -l | grep openoffice
ii openoffice.org 1.1.1-2 high-quality office productivity

...and the dictionary.lst must be correct, since I see the checkmark
next to the Greek language.

Any hints as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Alex
