Bug#224221: openoffice.org: Saving HTML as .doc files is desirable
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.0-3
Severity: wishlist
One important situation where there is a gap in free software is the
conversion of latex documents into M S Word documents. Many of us
write in latex, but every now and then, there are weird situations
where the file has to be converted into a Word document in order to
give it to somebody else.
The best path that I know is the following:
* Run latex2html -split 0 file.tex
* Read the file.html file into M S Word
* Tell him to save as Word document.
Now the file.html file is equally visible to Openoffice. But when I
feed the .html file to Openoffice, he does not give me an option to
save as Word. He should. That'd be really neat. I would not need to go
to Windows for the above situation.
