[Pkg-octave-devel] Bug#833940: Bug#833940: octave-nan includes its own version of libsvm -- not dynamically linked to libsvm

* Carnë Draug <carandraug@octave.org> [2016-08-10 16:39]:

Package: octave-nan
Version: 3.0.2-1

The octave-nan package includes the matlab libsvm toolbox which is an interface to the C++ library libsvm [1]. libsvm is already package in Debian [2] but the octave-nan package seems statically linked with the outdated version of libsvm that is distributed with the octave nan package.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am preparing right now a new version of the package that will fix this bug [1].

The patch that I introduced is kind of a hack and it would be good if the upstream author could cope with the issue in a proper way. I will eventually fill a bug report against the Octave-Forge package nan.
