Re: CDuce package

Hello,

Sven Luther a écrit :

This would be neat. If you could investigate those in the near future, i will
add those files in the ocaml 3.08.3 upload which will happen nextly.

I am not sure that I'll can do it in the near future. I only have a few days to try to get it working, I don't think it will be enough. Then, I'll have to go on holidays, and move to a new place, so I'll be off until the beginning of March. Anyway, in the meantime, I can upload my crappy thing somewhere so that someone can take over the stuff and try to finish it.

For the moment, the only thing I can say is that it needs the object files listed in ocamliface/Makefile (see http://www.cduce.org/c-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ocamliface/Makefile?rev=1.1&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup) in the UTILS, PARSING and TYPING variables.

And what do you think it is used for apart from cases like yours ?

I thought it could be useful for packages that only needed *source* code only, not object code. As I said previously, I am not a Ocaml developer, I only have a very very basic knowledge of the language. This may explain my stupid questions and statements.

Yes, the main reason it is not buildable is because the configure scripts are
not executable, but as i remember, the sources should already have been
configured, and configured to the *EXACT SAME* configure option as the ocaml
built in the ocaml package. Please try using it, and not the hacky way you are
doing now, which will have no chance of making it into an uploaded package (at
least i will boycott such as best i can), and if you have trouble with
ocaml-source, we can fix that.

The hacky way wget/configure/make is not a try to have something uploadable. I know this is awful. My intent is to try to have something working, and then find out what object files are needed, and make the stuff cleaner.
