Anders has helped out in maintaining git's packaging since 2009, diagnosing build failures, fixing bugs reported in Debian and Ubuntu, and fixing bugs directly upstream and in dependencies when appropriate. Since 2011 Anders has been giving modern versions of git a wider audience at https://launchpad.net/~git-core/+archive/ubuntu/ppa and dealing with bugs in dependencies on older versions of Ubuntu as they come up. One testsuite failure led to this kernel patch: https://kernel.googlesource.com/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux/+/05d290d66be6 He is patient and does a good job of understanding what bug reporters and developers are saying, figuring out the underlying problem, and solving that. I trust his work and believe Anders is qualified to go straight to being a DD. Sincerely, Jonathan
