I know Alexandre primarily because of his graduate studies. He's
completing a M.Eng. in the same research group and, even though I'm
working toward a PhD, we have the same supervisor.
We have collaborated in many projects already and Alexandre has shown
many qualities very valuable to Debian. He is curious, technically
competent and always strives to have clean and great quality code.
Oftentimes he has provided insightful comments and brought simple yet
efficient solutions to non-trivial problems. He also values and
promotes the spirit of libre software.
Recently, he has taken over maintainership of two packages. While he
also took over upstream development of restartd, there is an active
upstream for password-gorilla. He has provided useful patches for the
latter improving the integration of the software into Debian. His
harmonious communications with the upstream is a good example of his

hesitation that I recommend him as a DM!
