He submitted some bug reports the last years, in several cases he fixed bugs for himself and dumped the fix on irc which unfortunately doesn't leave much of a trace. He's been helping with hardware replacements for several DDs and DSA boxes by way of hardware and component selection and price negotiations. Currently Florian is working on a replacements for logcheck involving learning mail filters. I expect an ITP before the end of DebConf 11. Another goal of him is to get a unified backup policy for Debian with regards to standardised interfaces to do db dumps (e.g. postgresql, mysql, cyrus, samba, ldap,...) on the one hand and backup tools with low requirements as backend on the other hand. Florian has been active in the Debian community for several years now (iirc since 2003) and working with him been a pleasure. He is known for his calm and professional way of communication by several DDs and users. yours Martin
