2. Background
=============
Applicant Writes:-
My name is Luca Falavigna (also known as DktrKranz on IRC). I'm 25 years
old and I live in northern Italy. I work as an accountant for a large
multinational company. More informations about me can be found here:
http://wiki.debian.org/LucaFalavigna
My Debian activities are mostly related to Python packaging, I'm member
of Python Applications Packaging Team and Python Modules Packaging Team,
where I co-maintain my Python-related packages. I'd also like to
contribute to Debian GNOME Team helping other developers to package or
update GNOME stack.
I'm a Debian Maintainer since June 2008, so I can directly manage upload
of some of my packages. I already did some uploads myself:
http://merkel.debian.org/~enrico/keylog/D266A2CDAA29DC15AE7022C89D78D71186BC2A50.html
Other than that, I'm also a Ubuntu developer, I acted as release manager
for both stable and development releases and focused on some QA tasks.
I'm also upstream developer of Deb-o-Matic, an automatic build machine
for Debian source packages.
I entered NM because I admire Debian, over the years the Project
continued to give the community an excellent GNU/Linux distribution and
an amazing contribution to FLOSS growth. Being a developer, I can try to
give back what Debian gave me so far.
3. Philosophy & Procedures
==========================
Luca has a good understanding of Debian's philosphy and procedures, and answered all my questions
regarding the social contract, DFSG, BTW etc, in a highly satisfying way. Luca has committed to
uphold the SC and DFSG in his Debian work, and accepts the DMUP.
4. Tasks & Skills
=================
Luca has a great understanding of the technical side of Debian. He maintains multiple packages,
including, most notably, scons and webdeveloper. Luca currently has 2 packages awaiting acceptance
to Debian in the NEW queue. Luca also co-maintains some of his packages with the python-app-team.
Luca answered all my Tasks and Skills questions well, and without hitting any major problems.
5. Reccomendation
=================
Luca has been a pleasure to work with during his NM process, with speedy answers, and sometimes
giving me a bit of trouble trying to think up followup questions. I am confident that Luca will
be a great Debian Developer.
I fully reccomend to accept Luca Falavigna as a Debian Developer.
