Hi, On Wed, May 14, 2008 at 01:55:19PM +0800, LI Daobing wrote: > I am applying to become a Debian Maintainer. > > currently Bas Wijnen is my sponsor I am also Daobing's AM. He has completed the P&P steps, which means (among other things) that I'm confident that he will not do malicious things to the archive. I've uploaded lunar-applet with DM-Upload-Allowed set. I requested no changes for it. For the previous upload, I requested only minor things (without which the package would have been quite acceptable as well). He has not yet completed the T&S steps (the delay in which is mostly on my side), but I'm happy to trust him with maintaining a package that was in good shape before (which is what the DM system is for). On the social side, I find him pleasant to work with and patient (an important thing IMO). In his bug reports, he should be a bit more talkative IMO. He usually fixes things without saying that he's going to. If that happens really fast, it's fine, but #443380 should have gotten a response, for example. Then again, I think it's also a responsibility of the DD who set DM-Upload-Allowed to continue monitoring the package a bit, so this shouldn't be a big problem. I also think this will improve during the rest of his NM process. Overall I think it would be good for Debian if Daobing would be a DM. Personally I already have one package which he should be able to upload without waiting for me IMO. Thanks, Bas Wijnen -- I encourage people to send encrypted e-mail (see http://www.gnupg.org).
