Background
----------

Michael studies chemistry at the University of Munich, Germany and works
as a Fortran programmer in the Theoretical Chemistry Department.  He came
to Linux in 1995 and switched to Debian when he received it with the
CHIP magazine.


Philosophy & Procedures
-----------------------

Michael understands Debian's philosophy and agrees with it.


Tasks & Skills
--------------

Michael maintains chemtools, adopted from gbechly; he has updated the
package and showed a clear understanding of packaging.  The package is
currently sponsored by Drew Parsons.

His advocate, Jens Schmalzing, writes:
