recommends approval of "Jörgen Hägg <email@example.com>"
This is a final report on "Jörgen Hägg <firstname.lastname@example.org>"
to NM-Committee by Taketoshi Sano <email@example.com>
He initially tried to get the signature from any Debian member at
USENIX LISA conference 3-8 December lastyear, but he couldn't.
And he doesn't know any Debian member whom he can ask.
So I accept that the Photo ID which is signed by his gpg key.
ID check passed.
Philosophy and Procedures
I have asked him:
1) Why do you wish to join Debian ? What do you plan to do ?
And How does it related to our "Social Contract" ?
2) Please explain why we need the DFSG at all. And please
describe the problem related to the license of Java.
3) Please explain the procedures which should be taken when
several members in Debian disagree about the priorities of
conflicting packages, or about ownership of a command name,
or about which package is responsible for a bug that both
maintainers agree is a bug, or about who should be the
maintainer for a package.
4) The license of the perl is the dual of the GNU GPL and
the traditional Artistic. Can you explain why this change
is needed (Originally perl is licensed under the Artistic only) ?
I think his answers basically explain that he understands and agrees
with our philosophy and procedures.
Tasks and Skills
He has created the packages of libexpect-perl which is sponsored
and uploaded into unstable area.
I have gotten the source package of this, built it locally, and do
That package only have two "perl-script-uses-unknown-module" warning,
and the solution for both of them belong to other packages such as
libio-stty-perl and libio-pty-perl.
I have asked his sponsor about his skill, and the answer made me
to think that he can learn well and his skill is enough to be
I recommend that "Jörgen Hägg <firstname.lastname@example.org>" be accepted
as a maintainer.
