Summary for Jonathan McDowell <noodles@earth.li> Identity -------- Jonathan's GPG key is signed by Debian developer Ian Lynagh <igloo@debian.org> pub 1024D/5B430367 1999-10-26 Jonathan McDowell <noodles@earth.li> sig 80C83E8E 1999-10-26 Ian Lynagh (wibble) <ian@lynagh.demon.co.uk> Philosophy & Procedures ----------------------- Jonathan is a big contributor of free software. He has written 'sersniff' and 'seatris' and he is a member of Project Purple (http://www.earth.li/projectpurple/ppl/jonathan.html). Jonathan understands the Social Contract and the DFSG and agrees with them. He knows that applications with Debian specific license won't go in main, knows the difference between free speech and free beer and the problems with pine's license. Tasks & Skills -------------- Jonathan packaged 'seatris'. The symlink in /usr/doc was missing and there was no Depends: line (although the package depends on others). There were no other problems. By writing much free software, Jonathan also demonstrated his skills as a programmer. Recommendation -------------- I recommend that Jonathan be accepted as a Debian maintainer. -- Martin Michlmayr tbm@cyrius.com
