The last time I got something scanned by a printer it was prohibatively
expensive - it would have been cheaper for this purpose to just buy a
scanner.
At the minute I wouldn't actually have a problem getting something
scanned, but if I lived where my parents do it would be rather more
challenging (or at least expensive). I'm not dead set against the idea,
but it does seem to be a rather more of a burden for some people than
you think.
