So, I persuaded another developer (gianfranco costafragma) who I
cooperated with on the lirc package to upload wxsvg. This means that the
immediate need for building lirc is in place.

However, TBH, I feel that if you or someone else could review the
package if/when you have same spare cycles it could be useful. My gut
feeling is that the package could be better, and I'm of course willing
to work with it if given some input.
