Bug#914127: vlc GUI crashes on several UI operations with same errormessage everytime

Please also attach the output of vlc -vvv when the issue happens. Also, since
this bug seems to crash vlc with an assertion error, please install the -dbgsym
packages and provide the traceback. Thanks!
