Accessing still images on Panasonic NV-GS5 camcorder

Hi folks!

I am trying to download the still images from the memory card
on my Panasonic NV-GS5 (USB variety) digital camcorder.

Using Debian GNU/Linux testing, w/ linux kernel 2.6.7.

On cable attach, dmesg says the following:

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 2
usb 1-1: control timeout on ep0in

I have successfully gotten the Creative MuVo TX (256MB version)
to work, so I know the USB2 PCI card and USB subsystem is functioning.

These are the loaded modules I use:

sg
sd_mod
uhci-hcd
usbcore
usb-storage

It would be nice to access all stored data on the camcorder,
but the images are the most important, since they are not
stored on the tape, and I'd like to make room for new images
on the memory card.

Any ideas?
