Creative CT4620 Soundcard in Qube2 with debian

Hi,

on the 30.12.2004 I had installed in my old Qube2 (which was sold)
a Creative CT4830 OEM with EMU10K1 Chipset - ( http:// lbs.elektroda.net/grafa/Live/ct4830%20d.jpg )
which often hard locks when playing mp3's with mpg321
(that could be read in the debian-mailinglist archive in the thread "Please test CoLo 1.15-1")

The old lspci for this CT4830 card was:
% lspci
0000:00:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07) 0000:00:0a.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Live! MIDI/ Game Port (rev 07)

Now for my "new" Qube2 I did get yesterday on the fleamarket one of the first SB Live! which has been produced. A Creative CT4620 - ( http://www.dearhoney.idv.tw/SoundCard/SBLive/ PC2000-200002/ct4620.jpg ) which is the full version and the CT4670 was the Value Version - ( http://www.dearhoney.idv.tw/SoundCard/SBLive/PC2000-200002/ ct4670.jpg )

The CT4620 has golden full-metal jacks instead of the colored plastic jacks from the Value Version. Additional the CT4620 has a larger expansion-connector ( like the CT4830 ) for a Live! Drive.

The CT4620 doesnt seem to lockup my Qube2 with the same mpg321 ( Version 0.59q (2002/03/23) )
which I also used in December 2004.

The lspci for my "new" CT4620 Soundcard is:
0000:00:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 04) 0000:00:0a.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Live! MIDI/ Game Port (rev 01)

But I could be that kernel-updates or driver also has been updated since 30.12.2004 that could resolve on my new Qube2 the hard-lockups that my old Qube2 had.

PS: Is there any Internet-Radio-Streaming-Client available? Couldnt find
a special tool with apt-cache search.
I want a applicaion for console (like mpg321 which kann only plays mp3 out of the internet but
couldnt play a stream)

Or is there a console-"gui" for vlc ?

Bye
Guido.
