Thanks for testing.  To get your machine running again for now, start
it, choose the manual option for CoLo (enter "boot shell" or something
like this) and type:

mount hda1
load /boot/vmlinux-2.4.26-r5k-cobalt
execute root=/dev/hda3 console=ttyS0 hdb=noprobe hdc=noprobe hdd=noprobe
