Totally black -- png files come out at < 1k bytes, ppm output is all zeros.
Currently pointing the camera out of the window into the sunshine to try
and get some brightness out of it. Prodding the brightness setting doesn't
seem to have much effect (10, 20, 100, and 40000). vgrabbj -s /dev/video
chucks out:
