See page 204 of the manual (page 226 of the PDF file) for the pinout
assignment for a din8 <-> db9 (male) cable. Build this and then use a
null-modem cable to hook the machine to a PC and it should just
work. You can connect any serial device to this cable, just like you'd
connect them on a PC.
