Indigo 2 boot

I have an Indigo 2 w/ a R4.4K CPU. I enter the
terminal and type bootp(): I see the /-\ spinner,
numbers, and entry <something>. I know that the entire
tftpboot.img was transferred since I used tcpdump.
Should I see anything after that? I know that it
directs the output to the serial port, but shouldn't I
see anything on the screen just before it does? Does
this indicate that it hung?

2)Right below the IMPACT graphics card is a 9-pin
female serial port. Can I use this port to connect to
my PC(acting as the serial console) or do I have to
use the non-standard SGI serial port?
