mipsel/Sid Broken on DS5K/2x0?

Playing with a DECstation 5000/240 last night and noticed that
trying to upgrade to unstable was causing libc6 to crash on the old
postrm (whether upgrading from stable or testing). Not sure if this
was a bug in libc6 or something else but it was terminating from an
illegal instruction signal. Is this hopefully a known bug? If not I
can probably play with it tonight and provide more detailed
diagnostic output. Woody and Sarge work fine.
