I don't know much about SGI hardware, though I do know that this I2 is in a purple case, while others I've seen are in greenish cases. Maybe that will tell some of you enough to discern what video hardware is in here. Whatever the case, I don't think it'll be working under Linux any time soon. Other than that, though, there don't seem to be many problems. Once I built my own kernel from the source tree at oss.sgi.com the machine became fairly stable. Before that, when running the pre-built kernel from Debian, it was not very stable and crashed easily. IPv6 autoconfiguration doesn't work in it. That's likely due to broken multicast support by the network driver. That's unfortunate. How much disk space is needed by buildd? I have lots of disks available, but most of them are SCA. The drive sleds I have for this machine only take narrow SCSI, even though the connectors inside the machine are SCA. If I can come up with a way to install SCA disks on this machine, I should be able to get at least 18 gigs internally, with the possibility for more outside. noah -- _______________________________________________________ | Web: http://web.morgul.net/~frodo/ | PGP Public Key: http://web.morgul.net/~frodo/mail.html
