Is this a R4600 Indy? There are caching problems with this special type
of CPU and nobody so far looked into fixing it. Using ash instead of
bash as /bin/sh seems to workaround the segfault though.

This kind of limitation can lead administrators to do irrational things,
      like install Windows. Clearly a fix was required. (lwn.net)
