dgit-sponsorship(7)
Hello mentors,
I guess that a lot of people on this list aren't subscribed to
debian-devel-announce, so I'd like to encourage active sponsors and
sponsees to check out dgit-sponsorship(7).[1]
Some reasons to try out this new workflow:
* It allows us to do everything in git, while still ensuring (as use of
mentors.debian.net does) that the exact source package the sponsee
intended gets uploaded.
* For new packages which will receive a lot of revisions before they are
ready, working in git means that the sponsor/reviewer can simply use
`git diff` to review subsequent changes.
This avoids regressions, and means you don't have to check that the
git repository and mentors.d.n are in sync, et cetera.
* For packages already in the archive, sponsors can use `dgit fetch`
follows by `git diff` to check the proposed upload against the version
currently in the archive. Much easier than debdiff.
Thanks!
I'm sure that the workflow in dgit-sponsorship(7) can be improved, so
I'm looking forward to seeing some patches against it from the mentors
community.
