According to debian/watch, upstream doesn't release tarballs. It would
be great if they could be persuaded to start releasing them. But in the
mean time, please document how .orig.tar was generated, either in
README.source or by writing a get-orig-source target in debian/rules.
I'd suggest to put something like this into debian/watch:
opts=downloadurlmangle=s/.*// \
https://joeyh.name/code/filters/ .*/news/version_([0-9.]+)/
Of course, uscan won't be able to download anything, but at least it'd
tell you whether your package is up-to-date.
Most packaging changes are not documented:
- debhelper compatibility level update;
- Standards-Version update;
- Homepage field update;
- Vcs-* fields update;
- package description fix;
- debian/copyright changes;
- addition of debian/watch;
- debian/rules changes.
