Excellent idea, please do work on implementing it.
That said, debexpo (mentors.d.n codebase) development has basically
stopped long ago. In addition it needs to be rewritten from scratch
using a framework that isn't deprecated (currently pylons, django
might be a good choice).
For anyone who wants to help Debian move off pylons, these projects
also need conversion:
