Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for a new version of package libcap2. It
builds the following binary packages:

  libcap-dev - POSIX 1003.1e capabilities (development)
  libcap2 - POSIX 1003.1e capabilities (library)
  libcap2-bin - POSIX 1003.1e capabilities (utilities)
  libpam-cap - POSIX 1003.1e capabilities (PAM module)

The package builds lintian-clean with sbuild. The source package can be
found here:

    http://www.kvr.at/debian/pool/main/libc/libcap2/libcap2_2.24-4.dsc

Changes since the last revision:
  * debian/control:
    - Set myself to maintainer. Closes: #756091
    - Drop redundant Section
    - Drop redundant Priority fields
    - Add Multi-Arch field for libcap2-bin
    - Point Vcs-* URLs to collab-maint
  * debian/rules:
    - Drop dh_builddeb override, xz is now default
    - Drop override_dh_makeshlibs; a symbols file is provided now
  * debian/copyright:
    - Add myself
    - Add missing copyright for manpages
  * debian/symbols:
    - Create symbols file
  * debian/watch:
    - Create watch file
  * debian/manpages:
    - Fix typo in manpage name (getcaps -> getpcaps)
    - Drop capsh.8, upstream ships capsh.1 now
  * debian/patches (refreshed):
    - Update headers to play more nicely with gbp-pq
  * debian/patches (added):
    - 0004-Don-t-hardcode-build-flags
      Needed so that hardening flags get honored
    - 0005-Syntax-fixes-for-man-pages

Above changes look good to me.

The same tarball size mismatch problem as described in #756451 also
occurs with this package:

dpkg-source: error: file ./libcap2_2.24.orig.tar.xz has size 63264
instead of expected 62936

...so again, I'm using the orig tarball already in the archive.

This package, like libcgroup, also comes with a nice little
debian/TODO if you're looking for stuff to do to improve the package
(although I wouldn't bother with some of them, e.g. renaming the
source package).

Anyways, built, signed, and uploaded; thanks for your contribution to Debian!

Regards,
Vincent
