without looking further at your package: you can supress Lintian
warnings/errors/notices by adding an override file to your package. See
dh_lintian(1) for further information. [0] shows such an override file in one of
my packages (note, that the override is for the source and not the binary package).

Well, your package should be Lintian clean (that can include overrides) first.
Afterwards you can send a RFS to debian-mentors. Though I'm not sure many will
jump into uploading a package, that downloads a library...
