I have resolved this issue now.

I have now implemented source format 3.0 (quilt), and split the
package into two packages:

slimrat (full command line and gui)
slimrat-nox (command line only)

I'm not sure if I have done this correctly. My thinking is that if you
want the non-gui version, then you will simply install slimrat-nox. If
you later want to upgrade to the gui version, then an installation of
slimrat will "replace" slimrat-nox.

I'll search the web, but I'm not sure how to resolve this. Hopefully
someone on debian-perl can give me a steer - as they are created with
`pod2man'.
