gbp-pq import/export only updates "Date" field and diff, it doesn't change the 
other fields you may add... The only thing that change in the patch name is the 
prefix number when you drop a patch, but IMHO it's not a problem.

We are using gbp-pq to manage patches for libvirt related packages for example 
and we always try to follow DEP-3 for new patches.
