Hello all, I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.3.0 of the package "debpool". I think Magnus (co-maintainer) has been very busy so I'm looking for a sponsor at mentors.debian.net as well. Some information about debpool. debpool (or DebPool) is a package archive maintanance utility designed with the goal of removing any dependency on code (packages) not shipped as part of the core Debian system (i.e. packages not essential or required). It can run without the use of non-essential/non-required packages although some packages are needed for more functionality, such as liblinux-inotify2-perl for Inotify support. I would also like to add that great care has been made to make debpool only depend on packages that are essential or required. I want to change the original goal of debpool by making it depend solely on perl, with limited use of other perl modules and other programs that are common on *nix systems. The idea behind this is that not only debpool becomes a more "generic" archival tool, but also a tool that can work on Debian and non-Debian based systems alike. In this way, upstream developers wishing to host a Debian repository of their software can use debpool on whatever system they have access to. The package appears to be lintian clean. The upload would fix these bugs: 245526, 307895, 310320, 322593, 350503, 368554, 368555, 400402, 408105, 412090, 415204, 415272, 415323, 415447, 415639, 453905, 454102, 454173, 455439, 455449, 465937 The package can be found on mentors.debian.net: - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/debpool - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free - dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/debpool/debpool_0.3.0.dsc I would appreciate if someone uploaded this package for me. Also, I have added the 'DM-Upload-Allowed: yes' field so I can upload the package myself in the future. One more thing, I realize that there's the debexpo project which I think has a similar goal as debpool. I've already joined the debexpo project and am currently watching to see what comes of it. -- Regards, Andres
