And I would suggest to use the revision number instead the date. :-)
For example, there could be a lot of commits on the same day (and
using just the date it's not possible to know exactly when the code
was obtained from SVN.).
It's better to use versions like 1:01.03.00.99.svn.300 and
0.11.1+svn-r3965 (my opinion).

But there isn't a strict rule saying "the package version MUST be like this".
