What do you mean "outside the pbuilder" ? Pbuilder use a chroot so
what's installed on your system can't be used inside the pbuilder !

I know. That's the point.  I have to install scons outside the
pbuilder, in order to build your package inside the pbuilder.  This is
because I can't even create the _source package_ without scons
installed in my system.

I use pbuilder to release binaries for each debian and ubuntu versions,
since several museek releases. I don't have any problem. Are you sure
your pbuilder is ok ?

Yes, my pbuilder is ok. You probably have all your build dependencies
installed inside your normal installation.
