Hi, Sean
Why do not work with php like python or something ?
We can put files of lib packages in /usr/share/php4 and /usr/share/php5
and in /etc/php4/php.ini on line of "include_path" we point to
/usr/share/php4
to php5 we do the same, with point to /usr/share/php5 ?
and php4-pear and php5-pear , we can put like conflitants,, because its
very dificult put both in same machine.
Or we can create pear4 and pear5 ,, or something else.
A lot of time was passed since 2002 , and policy wasnt done :(
will be very good if we finish this policy before Etch release :)

I read all answers and anyone solve my question.
What list must I subscribe to know about php policy ?
well, debian-webapps would be a good starting point until someone
finds a better place. however, at this point we do not even have an
accepted (or even completed) php policy document, and things are
somewhat in flux.
i think what might be most helpful is for you to post any info
and questions about packaging related to php here (or maybe cc here
at least). this would help not only you but the development of the
draft document because it would provide a bit of real-world validation
for whatever suggestions we write up.
