Long Description: (from the readme) This Wrapper is a convenience lib intended for packagers and XvMC player developers. It dlopens an XvMC lib at runtime, and therefore allows an XvMC-enabled player to link with the wrapper and the user to choose which library to load. (me talking): I would like this package in the standard distribution because then the standard distribution could support any implementation XvMC (including the non-standard vld extension). Right now, VIA, Intel, NVidia all have their own incompatible versions of XvMC, which all require linking to their library specifically. This would spare us the trouble of linking each version separately. Programs/libraries, like libxine for example, could come with XvMC acceleration by included. It would make my day! I have made packages already (www.csd.uwo.ca/~mfgalizi/debian) if anyone wants to have a look. I know that I should be using debconf to setup the /etc/X11/XvMCWrapper, and assuming there is interest, I will figure out how to do it. Thanks in advance! -- Micah F.
