Hmm. I seem to be doing something seriously wrong. man is completely
unuseable for me in uxterm with UTF-8 locale.

Checking man's output it does not recode at all. - Is there a simple
gotcha I am missing?

I am pretty sure my locale is basically ok, because tin and mutt work.
