Yes. Sponsors will generally expect that you're at least intending to
apply in the future, but this seems to be the case. Send links to source
packages you've prepared to this list; if there's no response, feel free
to ping occasionally.

When you do decide to start NM, you'll need a developer to advocate your
application. Sponsors are the best candidates for this.
